Seth Godin writes that,
‘When everyone has access to the same tools …then having a tool isn’t much of an advantage.
The industrial age, the age of scarcity, depended in part on the advantages that came with owning tools others didn’t own.
Time for a new advantage. It might be your network, the connections that trust you. And it might be your expertise. But most of all, I’m betting it’s your attitude.”
His statement above ‘might’ be correct.
Most of all it scares me that his is the No. 1 blog. That so many people are influenced by his marketing strategy.
Maybe he is being a little ironic?
Do you remember the film Scum? Not the most pleasant of titles, neither subject or content. There was a scene where two meet to fight, “Where’s your tool?” “What tool?” “This fucking tool!” As he beats the other with a metal bar.
